Fun No Candy Valentine Ideas for Kids
What You'll Find on This Page
It’s February, and that means it’s time for the traditional classroom valentine exchanges. These exchanges can mean a lot of sugar. Luckily, I’ve got some fun no candy treats you can send instead!
Mini Activities
Nobody outgrows bubbles! These keep kids entertained, can’t make a very big mess if they make a mess at all, and can be played with outside. Triple win.
Hand out these tiny foam airplanes and then challenge the kids to a “who can fly the furthest” contest outside.
Reviews indicate that these tiny building sets may be challenging for younger children, but I think they’d be a hit with older kids.
Stickers
There are so many fun Valentine themed stickers kids can hand out these days! These are usually pretty affordable, too, although they don’t always have a place to add recipient names. You can solve that problem by glueing them onto a larger sheet of construction paper with a name and message.
Pencils
Fun pencils, especially these multi point ones, remain popular with kids. They are often slightly more expensive than stickers, but relatively affordable.
Sticky Hands and Similar Toys
Sticky hands (or sticky hearts) are always a hit with kids. Parents often find them mildly annoying, but harmless.
Mini Valentine Themed Mazes
Mazes, whether printed or these vintage style plastic ones, make for low stress valentines that appeal to many children.
Mini Activity Books
From scratch art to coloring, there are plenty of different activity books to choose from.
Tiny notebooks are also popular!
Fidget Toys
There are so many fun Valentine fidget toys! Wacky tracks (pictured above), Valentine fidget spinners, mini pop bubble toys (we gave these out last year), stretchy strings, slime, and ” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener nofollow”>sequin key chains to name a few. Price ranges vary widely for these, in our experience.
Printed Activities
There are some really fun free printable activities that you can include with valentines for a no candy DIY version! Try these printable mad libs, this word search, or this I Spy printable. The new printable site Beeloo also has some cute printable valentines you can download for free!
