We don’t own cats (my husband has allergies), but my kids love cats. And, when you love cats, anything cat themed is a big win! Board games are no exception to this rule. We’ve played several games featuring cats; today’s post showcases our favorites.
Cats & Boxes Single Player Game
Like other SmartGames, Cats & Boxes is a single player game with a range of increasingly difficult challenges. In this game, you win by moving the pieces with boxes to hide all of the cats. You can move only one piece at a time The pieces are adorable, and the range of challenges makes this game accessible for nearly any age. It’s recommended for ages 7 and up.
Catopoly
Catopoly is just like Monopoly, but it has cats in it and that makes everything better! I also find that my kids fight less when they play this version of the game.
Cat-tastrophe
Cat-tastrophe is a dexterity/fine motor development game for toddlers and preschoolers. Players poke the leaves out of the tree to lower the cat. If the cat falls, you lose. It’s a quick and easy game that is easy for preschoolers to understand but fun for the entire family.
Catventures
Catventures was a reader recommendation, especially for preschool aged players. The game can be a little bit flimsy, so take care with the box, board, and cards when playing. Hopefully this eco-friendly board game company can figure out a way to make a slightly more durable game.
